WINTER GUARD COMPETITIONS
The Winter Guard performed their show "The Queen" excellently this past Saturday in Villa Rica and will now move on to their 3rd competition next Saturday, March 3rd, at Mill Creek H.S. (4400 Braselton Hwy., Hoschton 30548). We highly encourage the Centennial band family to support our talented Winter Guard by cheering them on that day. This competition starts at 11 a.m. The entry cost is $9. Our guard is competing against eight other guards in the Scholastic Regional A Division. This division starts competition at 1:12 p.m., and currently Centennial performs at 1:33 p.m. So come on out with some good ol' Centennial spirit and pride! Go Knights!
Jazz Band rehearsals are on most Tuesdays through May 8th from 3:45 - 5:15 p.m. (See calendar tab above for specific dates.) Mr. Reid is the director with guest jazz artists.
The participation fee is $80. Please pay by cash or check payable to "CHS Band Boosters" and place in an envelope labeled with student's name and jazz band. Then place the envelope in the drop box outside Mr. Reid's office. This fee will pay for guest artists, music and the jazz festival.
These sessions are held most Thursdays from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. through the end of March in the Centennial band room and are for any and all interested in percussion for next marching band season. No percussion experience necessary. See calendar tab above for exact dates. Haynes and Holcomb Eighth Graders are very, very welcome!
