MARCHING BAND: Registration is NOW OPEN!!: There is a three-step process to register. This is due by the end of Spring Training — April 25, 2019.
Leadership: : All students interested in a leadership position for the Fall 2019 season are required to attend all sessions of the Leadership Clinic. The dates and times are posted on the band calendar. See the Directors with any questions. Camp: will be help during the weeks of July 22nd and July 28th – details to be announced soon. CONCERT BAND: Band Schedule for this week (click HERE for the full band calendar): Tuesday, 2/26, 7pm: Pre-LGPE Concert Thursday, 2/28, 3:45pm-5:15pm: Jazz Band Rehearsal Thursday, 2/28-Saturday, 3/2: All State Band in Athens Pre-LGPE Concert – This Tuesday, 2/26, at 7pm Come join us this Tuesday evening at 7pm (student call time of 6:30pm) in the CHS auditorium as the Symphonic Band, Chamber Winds, and Wind Ensemble students perform the selections they have been perfecting for their LGPE performances next week! LGPE Performances – March 5th and 6th Our students have been working hard to prepare for this year’s LGPE! Please note that students in Chamber Winds and Wind Ensemble will return to Centennial after dismissal/bus departure time, and therefore will need to be picked up. Kennesaw State University Brass Blast – March 2nd  The KSU School of Music's annual Brass Blast clinic is a dynamic day of brass music making! This year's event will feature classes by Quintasonic Brass, concerts by the Georgia Brass Band, and recitals and masterclasses with KSU’s talented brass faculty. The day is packed full of fun, and it will feature a closing concert in collaboration with participants and guest artists. Whether you are an aspiring middle school brass player, a high school player, or a lover of brass of any age, this day will have something for you! Registration Deadline: Tuesday, February 26, 2019 Event: Saturday, March 2nd, 9am-5pm Participation fee: $35 per participant How to Apply: https://arts.kennesaw.edu/music/concerts-and-events/brass_blast.php No audition is required, and we are open to brass fans of all ages. We will have activities that will be suited to all age ranges. No matter your age and experience level, you will have a great time playing and learning from KSU’s outstanding faculty and our guest ensembles. Orlando Universal Trip – Next Week! If you are signed up to participate in the Orlando Universal trip (leaving at 9pm on Thursday, 3/7 and returning around 11pm on Sunday, 3/10), you will receive a separate email this week with details about our schedule, lodging, packing list, etc. Stay tuned! Audition Day: On March 26th, after school, all 9th, 10th, and 11th graders will audition for our panel of judges for ensemble placement for the 2019-2020 school year. This is a required and graded assessment. More information will be shared soon. If you have an immovable conflict, please contact Mr. Reid and Mr. Ehrlich asap. Chop Sessions: Chop sessions are open to any student who is interested in learning about the fundamentals of percussion. No percussion experience is required, and sessions are open to all eighth graders – join in as soon as you can arrive! Chop Sessions are held most Tuesdays from 4-6pm – check the band schedule for exact dates. Jazz Band: Jazz Band rehearsals are held on Thursdays, 3:45-5:15. There is an $80 participation fee. Everyone is welcome to participate! Please speak to the Directors if you are interested. Lessons: We have many students taking lessons at Centennial during the school day with our private teachers. Now is time to consider lessons. Almost every student that was accepted to District Honor Band or All State takes private lessons. Please email Mr. Ehrlich if you are interested in pursuing this opportunity and he will set you up with a teacher. WINTERGUARD: CHS Winterguard excels in new division! Congratulations to our Winterguard that placed second in their division last Saturday at East Coweta HS. This was our guard’s first performance in the Scholastic Regional A Division. Come support Winterguard by transporting equipment, driving/chaperoning the kids to our competitions, and enjoying a great show! For each competition the team attends, we need 7 volunteers: one to transport the floor/equipment, and 6 drivers/chaperones. Our competition dates are:

Please note that due to rising to the Scholastic Regional A Division, CHS Winterguard will now compete on Sunday, March 31st. FUNDRAISING Maxwell Sponsorship We've partnered with a local real estate agent who is donating money to the Centennial Band on each home sale/purchase. If you know anyone (within the district, area, or country) who is considering buying/selling a home, please have them email Phillip Maxwell: [email protected] and us. Join us at McAlister’s Deli on Tuesday, March 19th from 6-8pm for Spirit Night! Take the night off from cooking and help us raise $ for the band!! Kroger Donation Days are Back! Come out to our local Centennial Kroger on Friday, April 12 from 5-8:00pm and Saturday, April 13 from 10:00am-1:00pm to support the band. Our fantastic drum line will be playing while leadership students collect donations. Parent volunteers are needed to supervise students and tow the trailer. Please sign up here. With a score of 78.22, Centennial was moved from the Novice Division to the Scholastic Regional A Division. We are very proud of our guard and this major accomplishment.
