CURRENT NEWS MARCHING BAND & COLOR GUARD: What a Road Trip! The directors would really like to thank all the students and parents for their sacrifices to make our trip to Warner Robbins possible. We realize it was a long and exhausting day for everyone, but everyone involved did a great job – especially considering it was our first game! We are looking forward to a wonderful season and we can’t wait to debut our show publicly next Friday at the Fortress. A very special THANK YOU to the volunteers who braved such a long evening to accompany our kids to their first game of the season! All students (concert band + marching band) will join together the night of September 6 to play stands tunes and enjoy the halftime show! This is a REQUIRED concert grade for all students to show off the size and power of our bands!

Maxwell Sponsorship We've partnered with Phillip & LeeAnn Maxwell, local real estate agents, who are donating money to the Centennial Band on each home sale/purchase. If you know anyone (within the district, area, or country) who is considering buying/selling a home, please have them email Phillip Maxwell: [email protected] and us. We will get a portion of the sale/purchase donated to the band!  Mark your calendar now for our annual Mattress Sale Fundraiser! This year's sale will be Saturday, September 7 in the CHS band room. The band earns on average $100 per mattress sold. Additionally, the referring student earns $25-$50 in their band account. Email Amy Kennedy ([email protected]).  Passive Fundraising From just May through July, the Band received $93.08 in donations from Kroger, from 59 households! Please link your Kroger Rewards Account to the Band and help us increase our Kroger Rewards donations! Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to the Band – it does not cost you anything, but the band gets the benefit! We learned more about what goes on behind the scenes in planning and implementing an awesome band program, approved the full band budget, and made a fantastic jump on our volunteer sign-ups for the 2019 marching band season. We raised $1600 in just 6 hours!! A HUGE thank you to our amazing drum line, leadership students and additional marching band students that braved the heat to play and collect donations. Thanks also to Jennifer Andrews, Leah Hall, Brooke Wood, Calonda Earley and Richard Padgett for chaperoning and pull the trailer. The next time you're shopping at Centennial Kroger, thank the store management for their continued support of our band program.  Come out to our local Centennial Kroger on Friday, August 16 from 5pm-8pm and Saturday, August 17 from 10:00am-1:00pm to support the band. Our fantastic drum line will be playing while leadership students collect donations. Be sure to thank the Kroger management team for their continued support of our band program! Parent volunteers are also needed to supervise students and tow the trailer. Please sign up here. FFA (Foundation for the Fine Arts) Concession Stand Volunteers Students and parents can earn $10.00 each by staffing the FFA concession stand from 3:00 to 4:00pm after school. (Parents arrive slightly before 3pm, and students arrive at the stand ASAP after dismissal.). These funds can be used for band fees, trips, Spiritwear and other band costs (no cash value). Sign-ups are now open for Band (including Guard) volunteer shifts for the FFA concession stand in August, November, and March. Please limit your sign ups to one spot per adult and/or one spot per student, per month. (For example, a student may sign up for one shift in August, one in September, and one in March.)
